Our Story

The A-Abel name has been around since 1937. Since 1997, we’ve purchased several independent service and trade businesses that compliment each other well to provide homeowners with the services they need at competitive prices.

We’re working to make A-Abel the name Dayton and Cincinnati area homeowners choose when problems with their homes arise.

Meet The Owners

Chuck Norman

Graduate of Miami University, Oxford Ohio. Lifelong resident of the Miami Valley. Chuck performed accounting services with Alexander-Grant CPA’s for over 10 years before leaving full-time accounting to take over the administrative & financial management for the A-Abel Family of Companies in 1992. Under Chuck’s direction, the Family of Companies has grown into an integrated group of independent service businesses.

Jay Moran

Graduate of The Franciscan University, Steubenville Ohio. Also a lifelong resident of the Miami Valley. Jay & Chuck purchased A-Abel Exterminating, in 1989. Jay joined the company immediately, quickly learning the pest control business from the ground up. In 1996 Jay was elected President of the Ohio Pest Control Association, and has been active in resolving pest control issues statewide ever since.

Jim Cain

After running his own Heating & Air Conditioning business for several years, Jim brought Cain Heating & Air into the A-Abel Family of Companies in 1994. The Cain company was a great fit – Jim’s hard work and experience made for a quick growth in the service business. Jim has grown the Heating & Air business to one of the largest in the Dayton market, and is an important part of the A-Abel Family of Companies.
